Mong Cai Town lies by the bank of the lovely Ka Long River. It harbors the international Bắc Luân Border Gate which connects Mong Cai with Guang Xi Province in China. It is 178 km from Ha Long City, 350 km from Hanoi. Mong Cai Border Gate Market is where economic and trade activities and cultural exchanges between Quảng Ninh and Guang Xi and Vietnam and China take place. It is also the bridge spanning tourist centres of Vietnam and China.
 
Tuan Chau Island
Trong Mai is situated on the south-west side of Ha Long Bay, 5 km from the tourist wharf near to Ðỉnh Hương Islet.
 
Tam Cung Grotto
The Tam Cung Grotto or Three-palace Grotto is situated in the centre of Ha Long Bay, 5 km from Sung Sot Grotto to the northeast. The grotto itself is divided into three parts; after threading the stone cracks, you find the first chamber. Many beautiful forms can be garnered from the rocky shapes.
 
On the route to Quan Lan – Ngoc Vung islands; Am Rock or Kettle Islet is situated in Bai Tu Long Bay. An island jutting out of the seawaters, the teapot of the Jade Emperor, who accidentally dropped it into Ha Long so, its handle was broken.
 
The Vang Island is an eco-tourist complex situated in the area of Bai Tu Long bay, about 13 km from Cam Pha. Investments are being poured into the site.

The beaches in the island are small but clean and charming. In the future a system of rest houses and tourist services will be built to meet the demands of tourists for relaxation during weekends.
 
On the south-east side of Ha Long Bay, about 25 km from Bai Chay Wharf, Cong Do is in Bai Tu Long Bay in the region which recognised as the World Heritage. It has an area of 23, 363 sq. m, and its mountain reaches a peak of 172 m. The island features many lagoons, which are the residence of numerous species of sea-life, such as shrimp, crab, fish, squid and aquatic plants. On the south-west side of the island, there is a wide coral reef displaying a myriad of colours.
 
The area of Yen Tu is made up of a system of pagodas, shrines, towers and forests, belonging to the village of Thuong Yen Cong Commune, Uong Bi Town. It is about 40 km from Ha Long City and 14 km from Uong Bi Town.



 
It is located in road 18A connecting Hanoi with Ha Long, about 5 km from Yen Tu. From Uông Bí go for 10 km until you reach a ssignpost; take a right fork as instructed into a paved road to reach Yên Trung.




 
Bai Tho (Poem) Mountain is 106 m high. It runs along the coast, half on land and half in the sea. Sailing in the bay, one or two hundred meters from the mountain, one can see a poem carved on a flat stone cliff. In 1468, Emperor Le Thanh Tong, who was also a poet, made an inspection tour of the North-East region.



 
Hoang Gia international park (Royal Park) runs along Bai Chay Beach, from Bai Chay Wharf to Ha Long Night Market. It is a comprehensive resort totaling 10 ha. Restaurants in the park serve European, Chinese, and Vietnamese food and seafood.
